Our story
Dollar Vail started in 1988 with a small fleet of vehicles at Eagle County Regional Airport, serving skiers and families visiting the Vail Valley. What began as a single-location franchise has grown into a multi-location operation spanning two states, two mountain ranges, and two of the most iconic resort destinations in the American West.
Today we operate a Dollar and Thrifty counter inside the terminal at Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) and an off-airport counter in Jackson serving Jackson Hole Airport (JAC), along with a fleet operations facility at Cooley Mesa near Gypsum, Colorado. Our fleet is built for the mountains — from compact economy cars for summer road trips to AWD SUVs and trucks that handle Vail Pass, Teton Pass, and everything in between.
We are a Hertz licensee, independently owned and operated by local management that lives and works in the communities we serve. Our staff are locals who know the roads, the weather, and the best routes to the resorts.

Our original location, right inside the terminal at EGE. The gateway to Vail, Beaver Creek, Arrowhead, and the entire Eagle Valley. Seasonal peaks in winter (ski season) and summer (hiking, biking, rafting). Counter and lot are steps from baggage claim.

Mountain-ready fleet
Every vehicle in our fleet is maintained for mountain conditions. We stock AWD and 4WD SUVs and trucks year-round and keep tires, brakes, and traction equipment to the standard that Colorado and Wyoming mountain passes demand.

Our team lives in the Vail Valley and Jackson Hole. We know the roads, the pass conditions, the best routes, and the local regulations. We share that knowledge with every renter.
